Fantasy Sessions

Step out of your everyday life and into the story you were always meant to be in.

You know that feeling when you close a really good book and the world around you looks a little too ordinary? Fantasy sessions are my answer to that. For a few hours, you get to stop being the person who answers emails and folds the laundry and become the heroine, the forest witch, the warrior queen or the fae wanderer you’ve secretly been all along.

I build the world, you step inside it, and together we make portraits that look like they belong on the cover of your favorite novel.

What a fantasy session is:

A fantasy session is a fully styled, story-driven portrait experience set in the wild places of the Hudson Valley: mossy forests, hidden waterfalls, golden fields and old stone walls that feel like they’ve been waiting for someone like you. Every session starts with a character, and every detail, from the wardrobe and props to the light and location, is chosen to bring that character to life. This isn’t a photo shoot where you stand stiffly and smile. It’s play, it’s imagination, and it’s a chance to see yourself the way the best stories see their heroines.

Who it’s for:

Fantasy sessions are for the book lovers, the dreamers, the Ren Faire regulars and the women who still believe in a little magic, even if life has made them hide it. They’re for marking a milestone birthday, celebrating a hard-won fresh start, or simply reminding yourself that you’re far more than your to-do list. You don’t need to be a model, you don’t need to love having your picture taken, and you definitely don’t need to be any particular age or size. If some part of you read this page and thought, “dude, I want that,” then it’s for you.

How it works:

1. We dream it up together.
We’ll start with a conversation about the stories, characters and worlds that call to you. Maybe you’ve always seen yourself as a sword-wielding warrior, or maybe you’re more of a woodland sorceress with a basket of wildflowers. Bring your Pinterest boards and your favorite book covers, because nothing is too much.

2. I design your world.
I’ll choose a location, plan the scene, and we can pull together wardrobe and props to match your character. You will be responsible for the clothing, I will gather props. This is a collaboration!

3. Shoot day.
We head out into the wild, and I guide you through every moment so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands. Expect to laugh, to feel a little silly at first, and then to feel absolutely powerful.

4. The reveal.
After I’ve worked my editing magic, you’ll receive a gallery of finished portraits that tell your story. This is my favorite part, because it’s the moment you see yourself as the heroine you’ve been all along.

Investment:

Fantasy Session: $450

Everything is included in one flat fee, so there are no surprises:

  • A dreaming call to design your character and story

  • Full styling, with wardrobe and props from my collection

  • A one and a half to two hour session at a hand-picked Hudson Valley location

  • All of your fully edited fantasy portraits, delivered in a private online gallery

  • A print release, so you can share and print your images freely

Bring a fellow heroine: add a friend, sister or daughter for $100 per person.

Reserving your date: a $100 retainer holds your session and goes toward your total, with the balance due on shoot day.

Questions you might be asking

I’m awkward in front of the camera. Will this work for me?
Absolutely. Most of my favorite subjects started out nervous. Once you’re in costume and in character, you stop thinking about the camera and start playing, and that’s when the magic happens.

Do I need to bring my own costume?
Yes, but I can help you source it and style it, make recommendations about hair and makeup, and provide props.

What happens if the weather turns?
We’ll keep an eye on the forecast together and reschedule if needed. A little mist or a moody sky can be gorgeous, though, so don’t be surprised if I get excited about clouds.

Can I bring a friend?
Yes! Fantasy sessions are wonderful with a best friend, a sister or a daughter, and two heroines are even better than one.
